  • Greetings from Dr. Terry Webb, Dean of the Library
I am happy to introduce the first e-bulletin from the Guggenheim Library. Bulletins like this will be sent to the University community at large as needed to announce Library events, alert online resource users to changes that will appear in their favorite databases, and better acquaint University students, faculty, and staff with the Library's services. Not every bulletin will be of interest to every reader, but we at the Library hope you will scan the contents and take a moment to see what's happening at the Guggenheim. Your feedback is always welcome, and my hearty thanks go to the good souls who will be composing the bulletins.
    Terry Webb
    Dean of the Guggenheim Library

    Author ! Author!
Sandy Epstein, Head of Circulation/Stack Manager, has, with Karen L. Schnitzspahn, co-authored the book, Images of America: Belmar Volume II. Through previously unpublished photographs from families who lived in and visited Belmar, NJ, the authors provide an annotated pictorial record of the town from the 1870's, when it was Ocean Beach, through the 1960's. Congratulations, Sandy!

Terry D. Webb, Dean of the Library is the editor of Building Libraries for the 21st Century: the Shape of Information (McFarland). This publication, a collection of international case studies of new library building projects, is especially timely and exciting given the recent surge in new library construction. The contributors offer prototypes helpful for learning about the library construction process and provide insight into some of the profound changes in the knowledge and information delivery professions. Dr. Webb has written a general  introduction as well as lengthy prefaces to the four categories forming a framework for the essays.
