ACCESS LIBRARY RESOURCES FROM OFF CAMPUS
THROUGH YOUR INTERNET SERVICE PROVIDER
(AOL**, AT&T, Verizon, Comcast, etc.)

These instructions will help you to access the University’s Library Resources from off campus using your ISP and Netscape Communicator. Please follow the instructions carefully.

Part 1

Install and use the most current version of Netscape browser and dedicate it to your schoolwork. If you have Netscape installed on your machine, skip to Part 2.

NOTE: Do not set Netscape as your default browser.


Part 2

To set your browser Home Page to open to Monmouth University:

 


Part 3

Configure Netscape using the proxy setting to access Library Resources

Note: You must configure the Netscape browser exactly as shown below. This proxy will only work from computers located off campus using a local Internet Service Provider (ISP)


Part 4

At the Monmouth University home page, click the Jump To down menu and click on Library/Research to bring you to the Guggenheim Library web page. Click on the image.

Navigate your way into the library resource you require. When you select an off-site library resource you will be prompted for your user ID and password as shown below.

For students, this is your Hawkmail username and password. (Remember that these are both case sensitive).

If you still cannot access the library resources, call the University Help Desk at 732.923.HELP (732.923.4357). A technician will guide you through the process.
