Welcome to the Guggenheim Memorial Library Book Request & Contactless Pickup Service. This service, provided for Monmouth University students, faculty, administrators and staff is to request books from the Library’s circulating collection. This is not for suggesting books to be added to our collections. That request form can be found here.
Please note that the Library building remains closed. The Library is complying with Monmouth University and New Jersey Office of the Secretary of Higher Education directives. Our top priority is keeping our staff and users safe. We look forward to a phased resumption of regular operations as conditions permit.
You may request materials from these collections: Main, Oversize, Juvenile Collection, MU Authors Collection, Leisure Collection and 1st Floor Flanagan Coll. We cannot, at this time, process requests from the Reference Collection, the New Jersey Collection, Special Collections/Rare Books, and other collections that normally do not circulate. Search for materials that you’d like to request at https://sierra.monmouth.edu/.
- Please give us 24 hours to fill your book request. Once you have completed a request, we will contact you via your preferred method (email, telephone or text) to confirm and plan your pickup date & time. We will pull the requested materials from our shelves, bag them, and prepare a label so that we and you can identify the order. When we receive your message that you have arrived in our parking lot (lot 20, next to the library https://www.monmouth.edu/map/) we will bring the materials to your car and place them where you direct us to.
- You may return Guggenheim Memorial Library materials to us at that time, too. Please have your items in a disposable bag. You can check your own borrowing record here to see what you have checked out. Log in with your MU username and password.
- Books will be available for pickup between 11AM and 4PM, Monday through Friday. We will accommodate specials requests to the best of our availability. Bear in mind that we are providing this service with minimal staff.
